Junk Salvation

It's rare that I can get decent photos of an indoor show, but I happened to be across from a big loading door, so there was plenty of natural light while it was still open.

It's also hard to photograph such a chaotic space.  It's a lot to pack into a small area, but it looked cute, even if the photos don't show that so well.

You'll notice quite a few new pieces of furniture I haven't shown you yet.  Don't worry!  They're coming!

Here's most of the space.  I actually climbed up and hung stuff from the beams in the ceiling.  People thought I was nuts, but I have to have height in my displays!

Yes, I did decide to sell the ironstone set, however it didn't sell at the show.  I have it priced at $150 if anyone is interested. . .

Per usual, I had half a dozen people try to buy my AHR sign.  I may have to set up an assembly line to make a bunch of these in a cost effective way.  We'll see.

These lamps (I have a pair of them) are one of my favorite items I currently have for sale.  They got a lot of attention at the show, but they haven't gone home with anyone yet, either.

It was a great show!  I can't wait to do it again next year.  In fact, I'm even considering taking a trip up north for their June show. . . We'll see.

Hill Theatre Antique Mall

I've mentioned that I have a space in Hill Theatre Antique Mall in Hillsboro, haven't I?  Well, if I haven't I am now!

I did a big update on my space this weekend and I thought it turned out cute AND I remembered to take a photo, so I thought I'd show you!

Door Table (is that like a wall flower???)

I've noticed that my coffee tables never sell at shows, I I think I know why.  I use them as displays.  I think people don't notice the table because they are looking at what is on the table, or they don't want to take away my display table, and may not even know it's for sale.

So, I came up with a solution.  I built a simple yet awesome display coffee table so that if I have another coffee table I can display it on its own and this one will remain for my display.

Here's the top!  I found this cool/strange old door at the RE-Store.  It was a kind of Dutch door, but only the top 18 inches or so opened.  Strange, huh?  Anyway this made it the perfect length for a largish, but not huge coffee/display table.

I screwed four legs that I found at good will to the bottom and that's it.  No painting, nothing, just like that.

Here she is in action, and just to make her feel good, she did get noticed quite a bit.

Here is a close up of her 'charges.'  She did an excellent job displaying the little pretty things.

I'm gettin' it!

What an incredibly fun time we had at The Vintage Round Up!  Those are some of the 'themes' of the week.  I had such a great time getting to know and working with my new friends, Ann of Pink Pony Pickers, Rhonda of Rustic and Re-fined, Summer of Modern Vintage, and Teresa of Teresa Sheeley Design Studio.  (Be sure to check out Teresa's Etsy shop where she sells her beautiful original art!)

We were delighted at the support from Omak locals and visitors to the Omak Stampede as well!

This was one of my favorite corners in my area.  This sweet little desk is one of the many pieces of furniture that you haven't seen here yet.  I just haven't had time to photograph and blog about everything I've been doing.  I loved how this turned out though and hopefully I'll find time to blog about it soon.

After the first day I went through my house and pulled out a lot of my own decor items.  I felt like it was time for a new start (more about that soon.)  Do you recognize this little bird?  She's been sitting on my mantle for nearly a year.  She found a new home with Rhonda!

 Another furniture blog post coming soon (hopefully!)  I found a pair of these chairs just a few days before the show started.  I couldn't resist them, though!  The other one is covered in black fabric w/ white polka-dots!
 

Oh my, I LOVE this kitty!  She is a very heavy, but small door stopper.  

And another of my own items making it to the Round Up!  Buttons, branches, and burlap!

The front table was a happy display of vintage kitchen wares including a bunch of colored vintage pyrex!  I LOVE this stuff!

And "Not Sarah's Table" hadn't found her owner as of yesterday evening, but she did make a pretty display piece for some vintage tea tins, an old film canister, and some other neat things.

I think I have a few more photos on my camera, still.  I have yet ANOTHER show coming up in two weeks, though.  Hopefully I'll find a little more blogging time in the next few days, but after two weeks of LONG days full of hard work I'm putting some relaxing time and time with my boys at the top of my to-do list!

The Vintage Faire

Last week was crazy busy!  My parents came to visit and I was in the final countdown to my first vintage/handmade event as a vendor.  The Vintage Faire was a great first show!  A friend and I combined our spaces and it was a lot of fun/work/success!

Here are some pics of some of my pieces from our space.

 These chairs sold right away (they were a pair.)  There were several women who picked up the & sign, carried it around, and then decided against it.  I'm not sure why, but I'm thinking maybe because it didn't have any way to hang it.  I'll be adding a wire to it soon.

 I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mirror.  It didn't sell either (I took these pictures in the afternoon after a VERY busy three hours, so a lot of our stuff was all ready gone.  I just don't think this mirror found the right person, and it could be that I am the right person!  I'm not sure this one will make it to another show.  I had a hard time taking it in the first place.

We had a pretty good collection of vintage kitchen items.  Now we have a much smaller collection!!!

I painted several of these trays.  I really love them.  It was fun to do something different on each one.

And a garden display.  Thanks to my mom for the wheat grass to add a pop of color and life!  Did you know that you can grow wheat grass from wheat seed (or wheatberries - they are the same thing) and grow wheat grass in just a week?  Isn't that awesome!  We've been adding it to our morning smoothies to add a little extra health boost!  It grows like crazy!
