Ava's Bench

I have two adorable little boys.  Everything at this house is snips and snail, rough and tumble, 110% BOY!!!  I'm not complaining at all, but I am a little envious of all the cute little girl creations that I have no use for.  Luckily I have two VERY cute nieces and one more on the way!  I also have more than a half dozen close friends who are pregnant.  At least one of them is expecting a girl and I'm hoping a few more are on the way!  This gives me a convenient excuse to knit, sew and paint lace, ruffles and pink!

Well, I had an sad little bench that needed some AHR love.  It was dark and brown and sad.  I was in the mood to make something girlish and thought that this bench would be happy living in a cheerful girl's room.

I primed her legs gray and then covered them when a creamy white.  A little distressing gave her some additional character and let the gray show through a bit.

I covered the top with some batting in addition to what was all ready there and then a double layer of a plain pink cotton.

I then used some fabric paint to stencil a damask design on top.

Ava's bench is for sale for $40.  Email me at applehouserevival@gmail.com if you are interested.  I can arrange delivery almost anywhere in WA state, otherwise the buyer pays shipping costs.
